What our Guests say about the Wheel House

The Wheel House

5th – 12th
Immaculate accommodation, welcoming hosts, beautiful countryside (on the days we could see any of it – shame about the weather!)  If you want to dine well, visit Millers Farm Shop, on the A35 at Kilmington, for your food shopping.  For an attractive, deserted (at least it was while we were there) beach, try Eype’s Mouth, just west of Bridport.

Thank you for a lovely weekend, the accommodation was spotless – couldn’t fault!! It.  The children loved the dogs especially Russ who loved chasing the ball and stick.  Thank you Julian for the tour which was very informative and made all the more interesting with your knowledge and passion.  Lovely place to visit –Lyme Regis.
Will definitely be back.

We’ve had a wonderful week despite the appalling weather – lovely area, comfortable cottage and warm welcoming hosts.  The warm scones on arrival were a lovely touch and Lewis (22months) had loved the tractors! Hope to see you again soon when we move to the area in a few months time!
Many Thanks

This year has been the best weather since we 1st ever came! We have had a great fun on the farm tour (thanks Julian)! I’ve helped move the calves from one field to another and that also means TEDDY! (the calf) I all so fed the cow’s!

25th August – 1st September 12
We have had a great time and enjoyed our wonderful accommodation in the Wheel House (particularly impressed by the turbine!!)  The tractor tour taken by Julian was fascinating and interesting to discover the history of Farwood Barton.  The weather was hit and miss, but when it was sunny we visited Lyme Regis and beach and Branscome Bay.  Lyme bay pebble beach was great for finding fossils! The games room was great with a full size snooker table and table tennis.  The chops and eggs on sale were delicious as well as the apple juice! We got a lot of use out of the tennis court it is a fantastic facility.  Also Russ and Rex (dogs) were an added bonus, very friendly and loved retrieving stick.  The kitchen was very thoughtfully equipped, with everything necessary for self-catering.  Overall, it’s fair to say everyone had a fantastic holiday.  Thank You!

28th – 1st October 12
A memorable weekend! Splendid accommodation for an extended family get together.  Sandpit, toys, table tennis, table football & tennis court very well used.
Thank you.

27th – 2nd November 12
What a superb cottage! Perfect views and extremely comfortable living area, we have all enjoyed a peaceful half term break from the busy routine of school and work.   We would love to come back again one day.  The play barn is a great idea – while waiting for everyone to get up!
The dogs were cute too and our beagle wanted to play ball with them.  The Turbine was really interesting to learn about.  Its such a chilled out and relaxing place to stay it is hard to imagine it being a bustling farm once.  We really enjoyed the chance to play tennis even if it was November 1st.  Plenty of nice places to eat.
I think we can all say that we are sad to leave as we have had such a good rest and relaxed so much it will be difficult back at work next week.
The Prior Family
Lovely views to wake up to lovely smell of the country and super, super cottages.
Days out to the coast which the children and dogs loved, loved, loved.
Had a lovely meal at The Hare and Hounds.  Its a carvery which all 15 of us descended on.  Food A*.
All in all, fabulous.  Certainly hope to come again.

New Year 2013
So here we are again,
For a fourth year in a row,
We’ve made our way through hail and rain,
And now they talk of snow!

The hills are green, the fields are wet
But the welcome was warm as ever
And so we’ve had the best time yet
Despite the inclement weather!

Emily, Martha, Mark, Paul, Sarah, Colin, Louise, John, Tessa, Stevie, Grandma, Polly and Cosmo!

Thank you for a lovely stay!
It was great to see you last night and Joan certainly enjoyed catching up with you all excellent accommodation and a warm welcome.  We will certainly come again.

24th – 31st March
Very impressed with the quality of the conversion, the cleanliness, and the welcome of our hosts.  Really lucky with the weather – you don’t expect barbecues every day in March!
Wonderful views, and lovely to see new born calves.
Games room was a pleasant surprise – table tennis and snooker took me back 50 years to my mis-spent youth.
Russ & Rex were very entertaining and also useful in retrieving tennis balls mis- hit over the side of the courts!
Overall, a truly fantastic holiday.
The Matthews families.

31st March Our third visit to this wonderful place and just as enjoyable as previous year, perfect situation and very comfortable accommodation.
Really relaxing time enjoyed by us all including our new dog who seems especially smitten with the farm.
Looking forward to coming back.

7th -14th April 12
The perfect place to bring two children, aged 5 and 3, if you like giggly smiles by day and heavy snores at night.  Plenty of peace and quiet in between the laughter and dog-chasing.  The farm tour was a highlight, as was the homeliness of the Wheel House, the fantastic scenery and the lamb!
Will definitely look to come again and will be recommending Farwood Baton to anyone and everyone.  Thank for a lovely stay.

Our group of 7 really enjoyed the cottages – beautiful setting and especially liked all the added touches.  And thanks for accepting us when other cottages turned down our booking because of our age (26 -32).
